Terry Pratchett was one of the two authors of The Long Earth series, the other being Stephen Baxter.

He was born on 28 April 1948, and died on 12 March 2015, aged 66. At the time of his death, three novels in the series had been released.

He was the author of the acclaimed Discworld series, and was one of the UK's most popular - and bestselling - writers. His books have sold over 70 million copies worldwide and been translated into nearly forty languages. He was the winner of multiple prizes, including the Carnegie Medal, as well as being awarded a knighthood for services to literature. He lived in Wiltshire.
