A long Map

In the maps feature, we could create a 'map' for all of the long earth. It could be like a number line, with each number representing a world. It would show where worlds are compared to others in the Long Earth.

What do you think? Most places can't go on a map yet, as they're not on the Datum, which is the only map so far. This way all places could go on the same map.

We could have several maps - one for the low earths, one zoomed out more (for maybe the first 2 or 3 million earths either side of the Datum), and one zoomed out all the way to quater billion west, and 20 million east (as that is the furthest any characters have gone in the books).

We could have markers for every individual earth for the low earth map, for the 2 or 3 million earth map we could have markers every 250 000 earths or so, and for the quater billion map we could have them every 10 million.

We would put the specific earths we want to add on the most suitable map. All three maps would be about the same size, some just more zoomed out than others.

Do you think that would work?

Yeah I guess having maps for specific "portions" of the Long Earth (or Mars) would work.

We might even be able to map the belts.

Added a map called "The Long Earth - West 2.5 Million to East 2.5 Million." What do you think?

Nice work! I like it!

I'll see if I can come up with maps ideas as well.

Cool! I added a low earth map, and put the earths onto the maps. For the West 2.5 Million to East 2.5 Million one, I made them either settled earths or not settled earths. Do you have any better ideas for catergories?

What about inhabited Earths vs uninhabited?

Yes, ok! I'll change it to that.
